Senior Java Software Development Engineer

Our software engineering team is looking for a Senior OO Java Application Developer to help architect, design and develop complex Java based storage management products utilizing cutting edge tools. In this critical role you will become part of a motivated and talented team operating under Agile principles. You will have a passion for writing strongly object oriented Java 2 code and have a deep understanding of the core Java development techniques and APIs. You will support your solid Java knowledge with relevant commercial experience in the following technologies:

Skills - Required

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience
  
• Excellent Java skills are required for this position so candidates must have a minimum 3+ years experience with Java (J2SE) including development of multi-threaded server-side applications.
  
• Good communication skills - both written and spoken
  
• Working knowledge of JDBC, JNDI, XML, Java Servlets
  
• Working knowledge of Unix / Linux operating system
  
• Enthusiastic and quick learner

Skills - Desired

• Experience working with Windows WMI, WBEM and SMI-S
  
• Experience working with Hitachi or EMC Storage Arrays and SANs
  
• Experience with relational databases
  
• Experience working with Backup Management Software such as Veritas NetBackup, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), Legato Networker, HP Data Protector etc.
• Experience working with Apache, Tomcat, LDAP, J2EE technologies, Struts, JSP, AJAX

Education

• BA/BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required
