APTARE introduces the latest version of APTARE® StorageConsole® 7.0 with new features and two new products. The single, unified storage management platform offers even more functionality for the data center to manage and monitor your storage environment.
In addition to platform enhancements, APTARE StorageConsole has extended its end-to-end data center storage reporting with the addition of two new products: APTARE StorageConsole Virtualization Manager, and APTARE StorageConsole Replication Manager. Now you can get in-depth monitoring and reporting on your VMware and your NetApp replication environments. Both products take advantage of the common Web 2.0 functionality of the APTARE StorageConsole platform.
StorageConsole Platform — New Features!
There are many new platform enhancements in APTARE StorageConsole 7.0. These new features are available for all current and new APTARE products.
Proactive Alerting — Now APTARE StorageConsole will proactively alert you when an exception-based reports or thresholds have been met. For example a backup failure report can automatically alert you if there are reported failed backups in your environment. Different alert types include email, a script, SNMP trap, or a native log.
Import/Export Customized Report Templates — APTARE StorageConsole gives you the ability to create and share an unlimited number of customized reports. You can easily share these report templates with others using the import/expert feature. Simply right clicking allows you to export any custom report template as a file. Others can import this file and use your report template. The data is not exported, only the template itself.
Advanced Report Filtering — APTARE StorageConsole provides even more flexibility in tabular reports with advanced filtering. With the right click of the mouse you can filter the columns or rows of any report to get just the level of granularity that you require. Pre-populated drop-down menus with Boolean-type expressions make it easy to create a filter.
Product Navigator Toolbar — Now navigating through APTARE StorageConsole is easier than ever with the Product Navigator Toolbar. By clicking on any of the product icons you can choose to show or hide that product and its reports in the report navigator. Making your report navigation experience clean and simple.
Enhanced Server Group Management — Server groups are often changing and need to be moved or copied from one group to another. There are no special commands to run — just drag and drop the clients into the destination server group.
APTARE StorageConsole Forum — The StorageConsole community of global users is now just a click away. If you have a specific question that you'd like to post to the forum simply click on the forum link under the help menu to login to the community forum.
APTARE StorageConsole Virtualization Manager — New Product!
APTARE StorageConsole Virtualization Manager provides detailed reporting on VMware server environments from the virtual machine, the virtual ESX server, to the actual physical storage resources used by the virtual machines.
Improved Planning — StorageConsole Virtualization Manager helps you make key decisions about your virtual server environment before you deploy. Easily determine the amount of storage capacity available to deploy a virtual environment. Also identify the appropriate ESX servers that have sufficient resources to host additional virtual machines.
Increased Performance — StorageConsole Virtualization Manager provides the metrics of the physical resources used by each virtual machine to help optimize the overall performance. Additionally, see the actual physical storage assigned to each virtual machine to ensure that it is getting right amount of storage to support the application and the correct tier of storage.
Maximize Storage Utilization — Now you can maximize the utilization of the storage for your virtual environment by identifying reclaimable storage. Easily reclaim storage capacity by identify unused or outdated files. For example a report on orphaned virtual machines or outdated snapshots identifies areas where used storage can be free up.

APTARE StorageConsole Replication Manager — New Product!
Increase the reliability of your NetApp replication environment with APTARE StorageConsole Replication Manager. Now you can get better invisibility into the protection status of your replicated data and be sure that your data is safe. APTARE StorageConsole Replication Manager supports NetApp SnapVault, NetApp SnapMirror, and NetApp FlexClone products.

APTARE StorageConsole Backup Manager — New Features
VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) for NetBackup — VMware Consolidated Backup for NetBackup eliminates the need to install a backup agent on each virtual machine. Now APTARE StorageConsole provides detailed reporting on those clients backed up in a VCB for NetBackup environment.
Custom Backup Window — You can view backup job status by backup window instead of by date. Typically when a backup window spans across two days, the reporting of the backup jobs within this one window is split between two different days. Now APTARE StorageConsole Backup Manager lets you to define the length of your day so your backup window is reported in its entirety. This is available for the Job Status Summary report, Mission Control report, and the Data Protection Dashboard.
APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager — New Features
IBM Storage Array Support — APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager supports the full line of IBM DS/ESS Storage arrays. These models are also available as LSI Storage Systems, SGI InfiniteStorage Sun StorageTek, and Teradata Storage Systems.
Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning Support — Now you can get reporting on the capacity of your Hitachi USP storage arrays that are running Hitachi's thin provisioning software, Hitachi Dynamic Provisioning.
